Copyright & takedown policy

How we handle copyright complaints under the DMCA.

Last updated: September 2026

Snap Video respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Site to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and comparable laws in other jurisdictions.

1. Our Role

Our tool helps users view and download Snapchat Spotlight videos that a Snapchat user has already published publicly. We do not host or permanently store this content on our own servers; we act only as a technical intermediary that fetches publicly accessible content on request. That said, we take copyright concerns seriously and will act on valid, properly documented complaints.

2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that content accessible through Snap Video infringes a copyright you own or manage, please send a written notice that includes the following information:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the specific material you claim is infringing, including the exact URL or link used on our Site.
  • Your contact information, including full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the above information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

3. Where to Send Notices

DMCA & copyright notices: [email protected]

General correspondence: [email protected]

4. Our Response Process

Upon receiving a complete and valid notice, we will review the claim and, where appropriate, disable or restrict access to the reported material as quickly as reasonably possible, typically within a few business days.

5. Counter-Notification

If you believe that content was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice containing:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the relevant federal court.

Counter-notices can be sent to the same address listed above.

6. Repeat Infringers

We reserve the right, in appropriate circumstances, to restrict or terminate access to the Site for users associated with repeated or flagrant copyright violations.
